For the last 10 years, I’ve been using the Clinique 3 Step program and have never been tempted to try something else since it was doing what I expected it to do… But when Clinique released a new skincare range called Clinique iD, I was curious as it’s based on your own skin type and is said to be the perfect moisturizer.
Doing a bit of investigation, I came to learn that there are 2 steps to take in order to determine your iD…. Step 1 is chosing your perfect hydration basis, i.e. lotion, gel or jelly… which is also dependent on your skin type. These cartridges all come in the same packing and have the standard Clinique branding. Step 2 is chosing the active booster which comes in very nice colors with each its own strenght and purpose:
- Orange :: reducing signs of fatigue
- Green :: sensitive skin and reducing redness
- Blue :: reducing visible pores and uneven skin texture
- White :: clearing the skin tone and making it even
- Purple :: reducing visible lines and wrinkles
Reading this information, I was quite intrigued to find out some more about this perfect moisturizer and experience it myself to see if it’s actually working or not… For my personal skin type, I went for the jelly from step 1 and the blue active booster since I have some issues with uneven skin texture. Have to say that I love the packaging of the boosters since they’re so colorful which actually also helps in identifying which one you’re using and can buy it again without having to read through the small print.
The Clinique ID jelly is a working as a 2-in-1 skincare product since it’s both a serum and a moisturizer. The jelly is supposed to give you 24 hours of hydration repair and is anti-pollution. The container is quite light and the texture is easy to apply and not greasy. This particular basis (jelly) is suitable for all skin types.
Upon using it for the first time, I noticed that the texture is very smooth and has a cooling feel to it! My skin felt immediately refreshed and it absorbed the jelly without stickiness. I was still a bit sceptical since it felt like a normal hydrating moisturizer that are available everywhere. After using it for more than a week now, I’m actually noticing that my skin texture is more even and my pores are becoming less visible so I’m quite in love with how it’s working for the moment! The biggest plus is also that it’s so easy to apply since all you need is a few pumps and you’re all set… No need to wash it off!
The Clinique iD Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly is available online or in several drugstores for about 50 – 60 EUR for the 125 ml container.
One important thing to keep in mind, is that beauty is a personal thing and since everyone is different, the effect might not be same for everybody. The above views and opinions are based on my own experiences!
