SALE in the Netherlands is always a happy time for me for several reasons, mainly because it takes place in December which is perfect for last minute Christmas shopping and secondly because I live in Belgium where sale starts in January. This does mean however, that most of my end-of-year bonus goes to shopping 🙂
My favorite destination of SALE shopping is Designer Outlet Roermond, where they have up to 70% off the already discounted outlet prices. This means that you can score quite some good bargains in one place! With Roermond being located very close to Belgium and Germany, it’s a very busy place to go to, so my recommendation would be to go mid-week and not in the weekend or at least not on a Sunday afternoon because then you won’t even have a parking space available! We went on a Tuesday and it was still quite busy but can also be due to the time of the year. The entire Outlet village is nicely decorated with Christmas lights, decorations, etc. which adds to the nice atmosphere.
This year, my goal was to find a pair of JEANS (yes you read it correctly… I’m in the market for trousers 🙂 ) and I have to confess that it’s not an easy search but I think I was quite successful with one pair at ESPRIT which is another surprise since it’s been years since I’ve bought anything at this brand.
Next stop was Ted Baker, which is always a good idea because they have so many nice outfits that you wished you could buy the entire collection. This time, it wasn’t me but my mother who actually purchased a very nice blouse with an asymmetric sleeve which will make little Beau laugh so much!
We walked a little bit more around the Outlet, but eventually made our way back home after spending around 5-6 hours shopping 🙂
